10th Grade Admission to BHSEC Manhattan or BHSEC Queens

Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) accepts a very limited number of  students into the 10th grade. Students interested in applying to the 10th grade must begin the application process in the fall of the 9th grade and meet all the promotional criteria of their current grade.

Applicants must meet our admission criteria, fill out the Department of Education (DOE) high school form, register online to take the BHSEC assessment, and take the BHSEC writing and math assessment. A copy of the 8th grade report card and an optional academic reference are due on the date students are scheduled for the writing and math assessment. For the final stage, select students will be invited to interview at BHSEC based on the results of the assessment, academic records, and academic references. Not all students will be asked to interview at BHSEC. Students will be contacted by email if they are eligible for an interview.
