Our People

BHSEC faculty and staff are dedicated, experienced professionals, committed to their fields, with a special interest in working with younger students. Their diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives make early college education possible. Approximately two-thirds of full-time faculty members hold a terminal degree (typically a doctorate) in their fields of study, and all permanent, full-time faculty become certified in NY State.

Faculty are selected through national searches and come from higher education and secondary education teaching backgrounds, and they receive training in early college pedagogy. Almost all classes are taught by full-time faculty. Our staff includes student support, admissions, and administrative professionals who are committed to our students and early college education. Our student-faculty ratio is approximately 10 to 1 with an average class size of 22-25 students.
