The Bard DC Early College Summer Experience

The Experience

The Bard DC Early College Summer Experience is a two-week intensive experience designed to provide subject-specific skill building for the early years at Bard DC, community building opportunities, and social-emotional skill development. This Experience reframes the traditional “summer bridge” schools host by not only incorporating key classroom skill building to prepare our students for the early college program, but also equips our students with valuable social-emotional skills through targeted interventions. The Bard DC Early College Summer Experience includes activities such as:

  • Classroom learning experiences
  • A Social & Emotional Learning-driven advisory component led by either a Year 1 or Year 2 college student
  • A number of community building activities led by various members of the Summer Experience staff
  • Color Wars
  • An End of Program Celebration and Family Picnic
