From our Principal

Welcome to our Families and Friends.

At Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Cleveland, we offer students the opportunity to attain both a high school diploma and up to 60 transferable college credits and an Associate in Arts degree from Bard College within four years. During their 9th and 10th grade years, students are immersed in traditional high school curricula but also exposed to the arts, creative writing and history courses. After 10th grade, students matriculate to the college program and begin taking courses offered, ranging from our seminar series to college electives in humanities, mathematics, sciences, and the arts.

Although offered on the CMSD-high school campus, our courses are led by very capable faculty and offer challenges and expectations comparable to any other College or University.  BHSEC Cleveland benefits from Bard College’s 13 years of experience running successful early colleges in partnership with public school districts.

We pride ourselves on building community and support amongst our faculty and students. Our students enjoy the benefits of a well-rounded, liberal arts education within a close-knit environment of supportive faculty and students who truly enjoy learning from one another.

Graduates leave after four years with a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts degree from Bard College. Nearly all BHSEC graduates transfer to a four-year college to complete a bachelor’s degree. The unique partnership between Bard College and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District allows us to offer this kind of education at no cost to our students and their families.

It is an honor to be part of such an awesome team here at Bard High School Early College Cleveland. We are committed to helping our students reach their academic milestones while pursuing their personal interests and goals. I welcome you to take a look at the school’s website to learn more or to visit one of our Open House sessions.
