Assessment

About

The 2024-2025 BHSEC Assessment was created and developed by the BHSEC faculty and administration to assess applicants writing, thinking, and interest in an early college.

  • There are three parts to the assessment: a math test, writing assessment, and (contingent on exam performance) an interview.
  • Students will be given 1.5 hours to complete the writing & math portion of the assessment.
  • Students who receive testing accommodations should sign up for the assessments designated for Students With Disabilities.

For 2024-2025 Students will be ranked based on the following rubric components:

  • Writing Response 30%
  • Math Test 30%
  • Interview 30%
  • Grade Point Average 10%

Applicants can take the Bard High School Early College assessment only once and at a single location, but may test at any of the 4 campuses in order to apply to any of the locations. This streamlined process allows candidates to apply to all four Bard High School Early Colleges using the results from one assessment, simplifying the application experience.
