Welcome to Bard High School Early College Washington, D.C.
Bard High School Early College DC (Bard DC) will open August 2019 as a collaboration between Bard College and the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Bard DC seeks to demonstrate that an academically rigorous liberal arts and sciences program can intellectually engage a diverse group of high school students and effectively prepare them for success in college, careers, and civic life.
Bard High School Early College DC will be located at Davis Elementary School (4430 H Street, SE) in Ward 7, for the 2019-2020 school year.
Bard High School Early College DC (Bard DC) is a four-year public early college high school that allows students to take a two-year, tuition-free college course of study in the liberal arts and sciences following the 9th and 10th grades. Bard High School Early College gives students the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma and up to 60 transferable college credits and an Associate’s degree from Bard College, free of charge.
Bard DC is operated through a partnership between Bard College, an independent, nonprofit college of the liberal arts and sciences, and the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Bard has a 17 year track record of operating tuition-free early college programs in public school settings and currently serves over 2,850 students in its early colleges.
