Pedagogy and Training

Bard Early College faculty are trained by Bard in early college pedagogy through pre- and in-service training by workshop leaders selected from within and beyond the Bard Early College network. Training sessions include workshops focused on Writing and Thinking practices, restorative practices for classroom engagement and management, differentiated instruction strategies, effective strategies for feedback and grading, project based learning, techniques for fostering robust, productive group discussions, and how to scaffold towards college rigor, among other topics.  Bard runs state-approved teacher training programs in New York, Maryland, and Ohio.
